Welcome to Tiny Town Nigerian Dwarf and Pygmy Goats!

A bottle fed Pygmy is more fun than a puppy!

Here at Tiny Town, we actually started in Pygmies! We are members of NPGA, and breed to their written standard. Unfortunately, we have not been able to attend the only two NPGA shows that come to our region , as one is at the same time as our county fair and the other is the same day as the Labrador Breeder National - this
happens EVERY year! So, we keep just a few pygmies because we love them! If you have never owned a Pygmy, you are really missing out. The "character and temperament " of these little goats will steal your heart. We unfortunately had a lot of tragedy in the beginning. Our first doe turned up CAE Positive and she had to go, and, another of our foundation does had C sections 2 years in a row!!! Not only did we loose the kids, we almost lost the doe! Lesson learned, these does can be difficult to breed. I have had two vets tell me that every emergency C section they have performed on a goat we are all pygmies!!!! Things have been a little smoother in more recent years, and in collaboration with Joplins Jungle, a friend who also breeds pygmies near me, we have managed to have a small herd of quality goats and cute little kids! Thank you Stefany! We will be breeding 3 does in 2007 for spring 08 kids. Lyra, Tiffany, and Miranda. Robin is still small as an 18 month old doe, so we have decided to wait on her until spring 08 and see where she is on the size chart, being concerned for her in kidding if she is still growing.

Old Orchard Lyra When Marcia Reid told me I could h ave this little doe kid back in 2003 I was elated. Her sire PCH Old Orchard Brimstone is simply FABULOUS! Her dam is Old Orchard
Criation Valley Farms Elvis (Legacy Farms Neo X Country Farms Strike a Pose +) This young buck will have an opportunity to show himself in the 2008 kids. His pedigree is loaded with the Legacy Farms Champs, and his mother is a + doe!
Pinetree Pyrgmis Trinity (Salltbox Farm Awesome X Laurel Mtn. Prestige +) Trinity and Miranda are lifetime playmates, so with Miranda came Trinity to Tiny Town! That was fine with us, as this doe's 2nd generation pedigree is ALL PCH goats on both the top and bottom. She is tanked with bone and type - and we are looking forward to her kids this spring by Elvis.
Suzy Q's Miranda (Darlyn Pygmies Red Heiror X Sun Vally Anika) Miranda coms to us from Joplins Jungle who has kept a few kids from her through the years. Stefany knew I liked this line (Miranda is Robins aunt) and offered her to me, when she purchased some additional does while at an NPGA show in SC. We will be breeding Mrianda to Elvis this fall for spring kids.
Tiny Town Robin ( Suzy Q's Snow Angel X Suzy Q's Oh Pipe Down) Robin is obviously a blending of the Suzy Q's line and Summerwind/Sun Valley herds. As mentioned in the opening, she is still small as a dry yearling, and we will wait to breed her for kids next fall.
Enterprise, another product of the Old Orchard line from Jessica Reid. Lyra produced lovely buck twins in April 07 - and both have moved on to be herdsires for other breeders.

Elvis will be our herd sire for the 2008 kids, and we can't wait to see what his contribution can add to the herd. I hate to post this photo of Elvis on the web since he really is a handsome boy, however, he is shown here if FULL Rut! The girls are cycling hard in nearby pens and the boys spend all day and night calling to them, wrestling amongst themselves, and doing all the kind of nasty things bucks do.....lets just say you could close your eyes and follow your nose to the buck pen!!!!!
